When a celebrity gets a divorce, a lot of the divorce proceedings are covered in the news. One recent story regarding Percy Miller, who is better known as Master P, might interest some Texas residents because of what his estranged wife is asking the court to grant her as part of their divorce. In total, she is asking for $67,647,800 out of his $178,743,300 worth of marital assets.
Master P's wife is asking the court to give her part of her husband's personal property, as well as some of his business assets. She claims that the rapper and businessman owns 45 companies, 31 properties and 13 cars, among other items. As part of the division of assets, she wants almost 40 percent of her husband's property.
One of the items she is asking the court for is a chandelier, which is valued at around $300,000. She says they own three of these large chandeliers. She also wants eight of the properties. Some of the properties Master P owns are in Texas and the surrounding states. She is asking for one of the vehicles, a Cadillac Escalade, and her wedding dress.
When it comes to his businesses, she wants a total of $64 million. Of that, she is asking for $10 million of Master P's energy drink company and $54 million from his other business ventures, including No Limit Records.
The bitter divorce between Master P and his estranged wife is a stark reminder that anyone who is considering divorce must make sure to keep their own interests at the forefront of the divorce proceedings. Knowing current Texas property division laws can help Texas residents to learn ways they can ensure they have a firm footing to start life after the divorce is finalized.
