Olympian and ex-flame fight over child custody

If you've been faced with difficult decisions in court one what to do with child custody matters, you're probably aware that it's sometimes hard to come to a schedule or decision that everyone agrees on. Texans who follow the Olympics may have heard about Bode Miller's struggles with a case of child custody, and now the case has been moved from California to New York because of new judgments.

The new judgment passed stated that the old judge's decision to keep the case and hearing in California was incorrect. At the time, it was alleged that the mother of the 9-month-old boy had moved to New York in bad faith, but she claimed it was only because she had the opportunity for an Ivy League education. Now, a New York court has disagreed with the previous ruling and said the case should actually be heard in the Manhattan Family Court.

According to the news from Nov 25, the couple arrived in Manhattan Family Court to have a proceeding before moving on to the judge who will determine which parent should have permanent custody of their son. The case is expected to be settled in December, according to the reports.

Oddly, the couple has not even settled on a name for their son; Miller has renamed the boy Nate, and his mother calls him Sam. The boy's mother is vying for custody because she claims she only became pregnant due to a short affair with Miller, and she also claims that he initially wanted her to have an abortion.

Child custody cases can be difficult on both parents and the children, and hopefully, this one will be resolved quickly. If you are going through the same thing, legal help may allow you to find a solution that works for both parents.
